Mobile Voice
None of us could run our business without mobile phones:
they keep us going, keep us connected and keep business
moving. Given the rapid development of mobile technology
you will not only need to review your requirements regularly
but consider a number of important factors:
Which network to connect to?
Which tariff to use?
When to switch?
What equipment do I need?
What billing options are available?
How can Mobile Data solutions help my business?
The time involved in making the right decision can be
substantial, especially with the complexity and the number
of tariffs now available. To help you we have a team
of specially trained professionals who will work with
you on every aspect of your buying decision and will
then be on hand to help you during the life of your agreement
The Network
Cost is an important factor in changing mobile provider.
However, changing networks, particularly if you are already
happy with the resilience and coverage from your existing
provider can be a difficult decision to make. That is
why IDN will consider this to the relative strengths
of the alternative providers.
It is not just the coverage that has to be considered and IDN undertake a number
of reviews in respect of the network provider:
What features are available over that network?
What hardware can be used?
What additional services are available?
Is billing accurate and clear?

Mobile 3G Datacards The Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS Datacard can be used with
almost any laptop to provide high-speed internet services
and e-mail access letting you work wherever you are.
There is no need for a separate mobile phone and no complicated
set-up process.
How does it work?
Mobile Connect uses one of the 3G networks, enabling connection speeds up to
seven times faster than a 56k PSTN modem dial-up connection. If you find
yourself in an area without 3G coverage, the card will switch automatically
to the well-established GPRS data service. In both cases, you'll be able
to:
- Access internet-based e-mail accounts
- Browse any web page
- Send and receive text messages
- Chat using instant messages
- Monitor your usage
By setting up a link between your corporate network
and the mobile network, you can even access your company
local area network (LAN).

Application Development
The success of the BlackBerry solution for wireless email has demonstrated
the important productivity benefits of continuous access to information,
when and where it is needed. But BlackBerry is capable of much more. Version
3.5 (and later) of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server incorporates the Mobile
Data Service. This allows you to use custom java applications as well as
web browsing on the move.
For example:
- Law firms are accessing time-billing applications
to capture billable hours whilst on the move.
- Service engineers are calling on their next job
whilst closing off the one they have just finished.
- Mobile sales professionals are checking dynamic
stock and price information to capture orders.
And everyone is browsing the internet and their corporate
intranet for information whilst on the move.
